رَمَضَانُ شَهْرٌ مُبَارَكٌ يَنْتَظِرُهُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ فِي أَنْحَاءِ الْعَالَمِ بِفَرَحٍ.

Ramadan is a blessed month that Muslims around the world await with joy.

فِيهِ يَصُومُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ مِنْ طُلُوعِ الْفَجْرِ إِلَى غُرُوبِ الشَّمْسِ.

During it, Muslims fast from dawn until sunset.

يَمْتَنِعُ الصَّائِمُ عَنِ الطَّعَامِ وَالشَّرَابِ، وَيَحْرِصُ أَيْضًا عَلَى حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ.

A fasting person avoids food and drink and also strives to behave well.

عِنْدَ الْمَغْرِبِ، تَجْتَمِعُ الْأُسَرُ حَوْلَ مَائِدَةِ الْإِفْطَارِ، وَيَبْدَأُ كَثِيرٌ مِنَ النَّاسِ بِالتَّمْرِ وَالْمَاءِ.

At sunset, families gather around the iftar table, and many people begin with dates and water.

تَتَزَيَّنُ بَعْضُ الْبُيُوتِ وَالشَّوَارِعِ بِالْفَوَانِيسِ وَالزِّينَةِ الْمُلَوَّنَةِ.

Some homes and streets are decorated with lanterns and colourful ornaments.

يَكْثُرُ فِي هَذَا الشَّهْرِ قِرَاءَةُ الْقُرْآنِ وَالدُّعَاءُ وَالصَّلَاةُ وَأَعْمَالُ الْخَيْرِ.

During this month, people devote more time to reading the Quran, prayer, supplication, and good deeds.

يُسَاعِدُ النَّاسُ الْمُحْتَاجِينَ، وَيَتَقَاسَمُونَ الطَّعَامَ مَعَ الْجِيرَانِ وَالْأَقَارِبِ.

People help those in need and share food with neighbours and relatives.

فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ، يَتَحَرَّى الْمُسْلِمُونَ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ، وَهِيَ لَيْلَةٌ عَظِيمَةٌ.

During the last ten nights, Muslims seek Laylat al-Qadr, a night of great importance.

وَعِنْدَ نِهَايَةِ رَمَضَانَ، يَفْرَحُ الْمُسْلِمُونَ بِعِيدِ الْفِطْرِ وَيَتَبَادَلُونَ التَّهَانِيَ.

At the end of Ramadan, Muslims celebrate Eid al-Fitr and exchange greetings.

يُعَلِّمُنَا رَمَضَانُ الصَّبْرَ وَالشُّكْرَ وَالرَّحْمَةَ وَالشُّعُورَ بِالْآخَرِينَ.

Ramadan teaches patience, gratitude, compassion, and concern for others.
