فِي يَوْمِ الْجُمُعَةِ، قَرَّرْتُ أَنْ أَقْضِيَ يَوْمًا مُمَيَّزًا مَعَ أَبِي.

On Friday, I decided to spend a special day with my dad.

جَهَّزْنَا دَرَّاجَتَيْنِ، وَوَضَعْنَا خُوذَتَيْنِ لِحِمَايَةِ رَأْسَيْنَا.

We prepared two bicycles and put on two helmets to protect our heads.

قُدْنَا الدَّرَّاجَتَيْنِ فِي الْحَدِيقَةِ، وَكَانَ الْهَوَاءُ لَطِيفًا وَالطَّرِيقُ هَادِئًا.

We rode our bicycles in the park, and the air was pleasant and the path was quiet.

عِنْدَ مُنْعَطَفٍ صَغِيرٍ، فَقَدْتُ تَوَازُنِي، وَلَكِنَّنِي تَوَقَّفْتُ بِأَمَانٍ.

At a small bend, I lost my balance, but I stopped safely.

قَالَ أَبِي: «لَا تَخَفْ؛ تَعَلُّمُ شَيْءٍ جَدِيدٍ يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى الصَّبْرِ وَالتَّدَرُّبِ.»

Dad said, “Do not be afraid; learning something new takes patience and practice.”

حَاوَلْتُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى، وَهَذِهِ الْمَرَّةَ عَبَرْتُ الْمُنْعَطَفَ بِثِقَةٍ.

I tried again, and this time I went around the bend confidently.

ثُمَّ جَلَسْنَا قُرْبَ الْبُحَيْرَةِ، وَتَنَاوَلْنَا الْمُثَلَّجَاتِ، وَتَحَدَّثْنَا عَنْ أَحْلَامِي.

Then we sat by the lake, ate ice cream, and talked about my dreams.

حَكَى لِي أَبِي قِصَّةً طَرِيفَةً مِنْ طُفُولَتِهِ، فَضَحِكْنَا كَثِيرًا.

Dad told me a funny story from his childhood, and we laughed a lot.

عُدْنَا إِلَى الْبَيْتِ مُتْعَبَيْنِ وَسَعِيدَيْنِ، وَبَقِيَتْ ذِكْرَى ذَلِكَ الْيَوْمِ فِي قَلْبِي.

We returned home tired and happy, and the memory of that day stayed in my heart.
