You are a young space explorer on a mission to reach the destination planet in each maze. Move your rocket using the arrow keys on keyboard, swipe on mobile, or tap the on-screen D-pad. Every level is handcrafted — there are no random mazes, so each puzzle has been designed with a solution in mind.
Collect all hidden stars in each maze for a perfect score. Stars are slightly off the main path — exploration is rewarded!
Gold keys unlock force-field gates. Find the key before the gate or you won't be able to pass — plan your route carefully.
Step on a swirling purple portal and you instantly warp to its paired portal anywhere in the maze. Use them as shortcuts!
From the Lava Planet Zone onwards, moving asteroids patrol the corridors. Time your moves carefully or it's back to the start!
Each galaxy has a unique visual theme, background colour and set of challenges. The first two galaxies introduce the core mechanics gently. From the Lava Planet Zone onwards, moving asteroids are added. The final Black Hole Sector combines every mechanic in the most complex mazes.
How do you play Space Maze Explorer? ▼
Use the arrow keys or WASD on a keyboard to move your spaceship through each maze. On mobile or tablet, swipe on the canvas or tap the on-screen D-pad. Your goal is to navigate from the starting planet (green) to the destination planet. Collect all stars along the way for a perfect score!
What are the special tiles? ▼
Gold keys unlock force-field gates. Purple portals are teleporters — step on one and you warp to its paired portal. Orange boosters launch your ship two extra tiles in your direction of movement. From World 4 onwards, brown moving asteroids patrol corridors — touching one ends the level.
How many levels are there? ▼
Space Maze Explorer has 18 hand-crafted levels across 6 themed galaxies: Easy Galaxy, Crystal System, Ice Planet Zone, Lava Planet Zone, Alien Nebula and Black Hole Sector. Each world has 3 levels and introduces new mechanics.
How is the star rating calculated? ▼
You earn up to 3 performance stars per level based on how few moves you use. Finishing under the par move count earns 3 stars. Slightly over par earns 2 stars. Completing the level in any number of moves earns 1 star. Collecting all in-maze stars adds bonus points.
Does the game save progress? ▼
Yes! Space Maze Explorer automatically saves your progress to your browser's local storage. Completed levels, best move counts and star ratings are all saved. Return to the game in the same browser to continue your adventure.
